I just received my letter from the Iowa Arts Council. They will be funding an installation of my video/microwatt broadcast piece Reception/Transmission in the spring of 2006. Reception/Transmission is an installation of my 32 minute abstract movie Telemetry that is an expansion and extension of the conceptual basis of Telemetry. It broadens the scope and engages with its audience in unexpected, non-traditional ways outside the gallery space through the use of microwatt broadcasting of its soundtrack which enables anyone with a radio to tune in to it over a limited area, typically up to 3 blocks from the transmitter.
