Roger Miller writes about theText of Light shows. From his article:

The intersection of Stan Brakhage's abstract film and our abstract music can produce different meaning to different viewers/listeners (we are not so much "soundtracking" for the film as co-existing with the film). In some respects, this has Rorschach Test qualities: What do YOU experience from this? The audience brings a lot to the meaning of the event.

Director's Lounge is a screening event running along side The Berlin International Film Festival. As festivals become larger and more important, we should expect more events like this one.

Art Basel Miami Beach, the art fair branch in the US already encourages events similar in conception to Director's Lounge. I think these events are a good idea, especially if they continue to run even when the other event isn't.
