movies: SHOWS & SCREENINGS

As of January 15, Museum of the Moving Image has reopened after a major expansion and renovation of its building. They're starting off in their new building with a series of rarely-seen avant-garde films.

The Museum will present the weekly series Avant Garde Masters, focusing on the restoration of rarely-seen and classic Avant-Garde films. Screenings include a selection of restored experimental films from the Academy Film Archive that deal with the elemental and metaphysical aspects of celluloid cinema on January 23rd. The program continues on February 6th with Andy Warhols Face starring Edie Sedgwick, and wraps up with a rare screening of Gregory Markopouloss Eniaious: Cycle Five.

For more information and a full list of films to be screened in the series, here is the schedule .

Please visit their website for the full schedule of opening programs.
